Today, 16 October, the Chairman of BAIA Todor Ivandjikov sent a congratulatory address to Major General Dimitar Petrov – Commander of the Bulgarian Air Force, Major General Dr Grudi Angelov – Head of Rakovski National Defence College, and Brigadier General Julian Radoiski – Head of the Georgi Benkovski Air Force Academy on the occasion of the 109th anniversary of the Bulgarian Air Force.

Dear servicemen in the ranks of the Bulgarian Air Force
On behalf of the Bulgarian Aviation Industry Association (BAIA), I extend my greetings on the occasion of October 16 – 109 years of the Bulgarian Air Force (BAF) and express my admiration for the fighting spirit, drive and dedication with which you and your subordinates continue to maintain and develop the traditions of the Bulgarian combat aviation.
The date 16 October 1912 is only the beginning of the glorious history of the Bulgarian Air Force, which despite the difficult times and the challenges it was subjected to, managed to preserve the values bestowed by heroes such as the great Radul Milkov, Prodan Tarakchiev, Dimitar Spirarevski.
Like you, we are also facing difficulties in this crisis-filled time. But the example you set is our starting point, which we follow closely to deal with whatever comes our way.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Major General Dr. Angelov and Brigadier General Radojski for the trust they have placed in us and the fruitful cooperation we have been able to build. We will continue with joint efforts to develop new aviation personnel and combat aviation training so that the Bulgarian Air Force will be proud of the boys and girls with blue patches in the future!
