Today, 15.11.2023, the first licensed hospital heliport was opened at the Uni Hospital in Panagyurishte, from which flights for the needs of the emergency medical care system will be performed by air. This project was made possible with the assistance of the Ministry of Transport and Minister Georgi Gvozdeykov.
The Certificate of Airworthiness was presented by the Director General of DG Civil Aviation Administration Anelia Marinova. She recalled that on 22 September the first registered operational base for emergency medical assistance by air was opened at the Georgi Benkovski Air Base in Dolna Mitropolia. Prior to the commissioning of the heliport, DG CAA conducted an aeronautical survey of the facility, and it meets all regulatory requirements related to ensuring the safety of flights of medical helicopters. Thanks to the Air Force, a helicopter was provided for the tests.
As President of BAIA, Mr. Ivandjikov actively supports significant national aviation-related projects. For the last 2 years, this is the second HEMS site to be implemented and certified as a result of the hard work of the Ministry of Transport, Mr. Todor Ivandzhikov and Mr. Anthony Tarnitsov.
