BAIA actively participated in the discussion forum “Security and Risks in Hospitality”, organized by the University of National and World Economy (UNWE).
At the invitation of the organizers, Mr. Todor Ivandjikov, Chairman of the Management Board of BAIA, took part in the event and presented an innovative idea based on proven practices from aviation.
The proposal: the introduction of short safety instruction videos in hotel rooms, broadcast on the in-room televisions — similar to aviation procedures. They would include:
• evacuation procedures
• behaviour in emergency situations
• basic instructions for using a defibrillator
• safety guidelines for various risks
The idea was extremely well received by representatives of the hospitality sector and was assessed as practical, easy to implement, and with strong potential to enhance tourist safety.
This approach demonstrates how knowledge and standards from aviation can be successfully transferred to other industries, creating a safer and more resilient environment.
BAIA will continue working to transfer expertise and implement good practices across sectors, with a focus on safety, innovation, and training.
